Feelin Beemer?

Rideamotorcycle.com is the newest motorcycle Internet web site, one that takes a totally fresh approach to catering to the street-oriented two-wheeled enthusiast. Rideamotorcycle.com is focused on 3 groups; the established street motorcycle rider, new motorcyclists, or those who do not currently ride motorcycles but are curious about learning to do so. From Monday through Friday they had all kinds of special events to help introduce the employees from the car side of the company to the motorcycle side. Well done, we say. This featured everything from a Heritage display (spanning 79 years of motorcycle design and technology) to demo and passenger rides and Motorcycle Safety Foundation instruction.

"BMW from the beginning has had a unique history of cross-fertilization between the motorcycle and the automotive divisions. The extraordinary technological developments made possible only by the resources of a major car company have been married to the performance heritage and sporty attitude that only motorcycles deliver. The result is a company with products that are recognized the world over as the absolute best in quality, performance, handling and especially, futurist thinking." Indeed, think about ABS and BMW's unique TeleLever and Paralever suspension systems and you see there has been a benefit from the two disciplined being under one roof. But hey, you don't work for BMW. Are you feeling left out? Don't. The weekend is for you, and Northeast riders should saddle up and head to New Jersey. Here's their press release. Go and enjoy, we say. The BMW Bike Week Rider Weekend - May 18 - 19 (Basically, it's the BMW version of a tailgate party.) On the weekend of May 18 - 19, we are cordially inviting all motorcycle riders and BMW retailer personnel to join us for a celebration of the greatest motorcycle ever invented (in our opinion at least.) It's a great opportunity for a demo ride on that bike you've been salivating over. Or you can just meet up with fellow riders or even bend the ear of some of the BMW staff. We'll provide free breakfast and lunch, a BMW Owner Appreciation Gift Bag for everyone who registers in advance, and there will be numerous door prizes during both days. If you are within riding distance of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey we hope that you can join us! Additional planned events for the weekend include: BMW Heritage Display Demo Rides from 8am to 4pm ABS Outrigger Demonstrations Vendor Tent Police Agility Demonstrations Live bands Dan Browning's Tech Room (mechanical displays and technical expertise that covers the full 80-range of BMW's motorcycles.) Orvis Fly-Fishing School (with rods that fit on your bike - how cool is that) Special Presentations Highlight On both days, we will feature two unusual and highly interesting presentations from individuals with very different perspectives on the motorcycle experience: adventure riding in extreme locations, and the motorcycle as an object of art. On Saturday - Patrick Symmes on his book Chasing Che - an arduous trip through the mountains and jungles of South America, that Symmes took on his F 650 GS Dakar. He intended "get into Che's head" by retracing the route Che Guevara took on his Triumph before he became a notorious revolutionary, but Symmes also found out more about himself, too. Sponsored by Outside magazine. On Sunday - Ultan Guilfoyle, acclaimed curator of The Art of the Motorcycle at the Guggenheim Las Vegas (and New York and Bilbao, Spain before that) describes the history and culture of motorcycling, and why now, a century after the first motorcycle, it's not only riders who look upon their bikes as two-wheeled art. Promotion for BMW Bike Week A BMW Bike Week announcement has been placed on the opening section of www.bmwmotorcycles.com and more information will be added shortly: we do encourage pre-registration for those participants who want to be guaranteed a gift bag. As always, ride safe and we hope to see you at BMW Bike Week!
