Lazenby was chosen to replace Sean Connery as James Bond in the successful movie series. But his initial burst of fame did not last long.
After a modeling career in advertising, Lazenby was "discovered" and cast as Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Despite some troubles on the set, Lazenby was offered a shot at the next move, called Diamonds Are Forever, but he refused to sign his contract. Sean Connery then returned as Bond, replacing his replacement.
But living well is the best revenge, and Lazenby has proven he's no double-0 dummy. Lazenby has lived on a ranch in southern California for years and was often visble of the amateur motocross scene. He still makes appearances at Bond conventions and the like when he's not scratching around acres.
